The Naples Police Department has a new police chief after four months of searching.

On October 16, 2023, Collier County had a new police chief take over for the Naples Police Department.

Chief Ciro Dominguez, the newly appointed chief, has been a police officer for over thirty-eight years, beginning his career for the Naples Police Department in 1982. Dominguez was chosen after an over four-month-long search of 175 candidates. The process began after Tom Weschler, the former Naples Police chief, resigned from his position after fifteen years in office.

Dominguez has made a few changes in the efforts of the department already, with police activity being very high since he took office. The roads of Naples are now patrolled much more heavily, and will likely be for weeks to come.
