Marco Island Academy’s 2026 prom, on May 9th, is going to be a night inspired by The Great Gatsby, specifically, Great Gatsby’s Masquerade. With this iconic theme, the prom will blend the glitz and glamour of the roaring twenties with the bold trends for prom in 2026.

From the moment the students arrive, the atmosphere will reflect Great Gatsby-style luxury. Think of gold and black decor, Shimmering lights, and feather centerpieces,  and it will feel straight out of a 1920s mansion party. 

The theme is all about stepping into a world of elegance, celebration, and a little bit of mystery, especially with your masks, which will show everyone’s individual style and really give the feel that you’re actually there at a Great Gatsby party, trying to figure out who everyone is behind their mask.

Prom trends in 2026 align perfectly with this theme. This year is all about bold fashion choices instead of keeping it simple; students are going all out with statement looks, metallic fabric, big and poofy, and unique textures. Dresses in shades like champagne, emerald green, deep reds, and dark blues are very popular; all fitting perfectly into the Gatsby aesthetic of luxury.

Another big trend for 2026 prom is mixing vintage style with modern, with corset-style dresses, satin gowns, and flowy fabric, all of which give very classic looks. While the details like cutouts, sparkles, and bold colors all give the dresses a more current look. Accessories are a huge part of the look, pearls, gloves, statement jewelry, and mini bags all give the Great Gatsby.

Marco Island Academy’s prom is going to bring The Great Gatsby to life in a way that will make it feel like you went back in time. This prom is a chance for the students to dress up and express themselves, experiencing a night in the 1920s.
