COME JOIN US!! Macro Island Academy is having a spooktastic fundraiser on Halloween to help the girls and boys soccer team afford new jerseys. What started out as normal soccer practice has now turned into a fun and inclusive way to support both the men’s and women’s soccer teams while bringing the community together. This event will be at the school’s field from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Players play in costumes too!!

This fundraiser was inspired by a problem the soccer teams had: the teams didn’t have enough jerseys for their players. With the recent tryouts and the success of the many students interested to play, the numbers of jerseys were cut short. Not only that but the original jerseys were discontinued. Instead of letting that limit participation, Mr. Ray, the dean of students and coaches decided to turn it into an opportunity to raise money for new jerseys with an event that ensures every student plays with enthusiasm and has fun while doing it.
With an entrance fee of $5, spectators can have fun as well! Throughout the game, spectators can donate money individually or collectively to unlock hilarious in-game challenges for the players such as: adding another ball to the game, having players dance off against each other, or making players zombies during the game. That’s not all, parents or guardians can also get in on the fun by signing up to take a shot at scoring a goal against their student athlete. If you’re feeling hungry or thirsty during the game, concessions will be open. For extra Halloween spirit, there will also be a costume contest with $1 per vote for the following categories: the best individual costume, best team/group costume, and the best costume overall. This event promises fun for players, students, families, and spectators alike.
Big thank you to Mr. Ray and Mr. Higuera for making this event possible!
The goal? To put the FUN back in the FUNdraiser!
