Ray’s Recipe: Cupid’s Crunchy Cookie

Rays+Recipe%3A+Cupids+Crunchy+Cookie

Happy Valentine’s Day! With this loving holiday quickly approaching, it is the perfect time to make these delicious cookies for you and your friends. This sweet treat is the perfect way to show your appreciation to your valentine.

This recipe is a modern take on an old-fashioned cookie. This cookie takes the simplicity of an m&m cookie, and adds the chocolatey goodness of oreos to create these irresistible cookies.

You will love these cookies so much you’ll think you got hit with one of cupid’s arrows. Grab your whisk and your valentine to make these sweet cookies.

All of the ingredients you will need to make these tasty cookies! (Lauren Riley)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup room temperature butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ⅔ cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 ⅓ cup m&m’s
  • 15 regular stuffed oreos (roughly chopped)

Recipe

First steps in the process of making these delicious cookies are preheating the oven to 350°F (177°C), and lining a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Next you need to grab a medium sized bowl and mix butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamed. If you need to quickly soften the butter, place it in the microwave for 15-20 seconds.

Afterwards incorporate both eggs and vanilla extract into the mixture. The more vanilla extract you add the sweeter the dessert, so incorporate however much your heart desires.

In a separate smaller bowl add flour, baking soda and salt and mix until fully combined.

Slowly combine the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients by pouring some of the dry ingredients and mixing until you can’t see anymore lumps, and repeat until there aren’t any more dry ingredients, and you have sweet and tasty dough

Next you’ll need to grab a cutting board and knife to chop up your oreos. For this recipe I chose to chop 15 oreos, although you can chop however many you desire. After chopping the oreos, fold them into dough along with the m&m’s.

Scoop a heaping tablespoon of cookie dough and place on cookie sheet, place 1-2 inches apart. Put the cookie sheet in the oven and let cook for 20-22 minutes.

Let the cookies rest for 5-10 minutes and share these scrumptious cookies with your valentine, or just save them all for yourself.

Make sure to keep an eye on these bad boys, these are a hot ticket item. If you need any more convincing to make these cookies, my parents said these cookies were the best they have ever had.
