Marco Island Academy’s soccer team played another great game last night.

On Monday, January 8th the MIA community came together to celebrate our girls soccer seniors. Our team hosted Village School on the home turf and the girls took the victory against the Knights with a final score of 5-1.

The Lady Rays started the game off strong with an amazing hat trick thanks to junior Lily Tessarzik assisted by senior Ava Cartwright. To follow Lily’s hat trick and Ava’s assist, the first senior goal of the night was scored by Ava Carwright. With an amazing shot from outside the 18-yard box, the score was 4-0 before the first half was over.

After halftime, the Lady Rays switched out some of the starting players. Goalie Michelle Acosta was put in as a striker and had three shots on goal. The next and last goal of the night was scored by senior Iran Zarate-Centeno.

Our Lady Rays had an amazing game against the Village School Knights!

Go Rays!
