Marco Island Academy’s soccer team played another great game last night.

On Monday, January 8th, 2024, the Marco Island Academy boys soccer team played their Senior Night game against the Knights of The Village School of Naples. The team quickly dominated the game with an ending score of 8-0 with time remaining on the clock resulting in a mercy-rule win.

The team ended the first half of the game with a score of 4-0. Senior Chase Polley promptly scored the first two goals, and a quick third goal by Senior Captain Ivan Harrison followed. The last goal of the first half was shot just outside the 18-yard box and was scored by junior Enrique Ramirez.

Opening the second half of the game, Collin Grensing took an amazing shot scoring the fifth goal. Senior Chase Polley followed this by tapping in two more goals within minutes of each other which brought the game to 7-0. Senior captain and goalie, Ryan Sweeney, scored the winning goal off of a header that ended the game with a score of 8-0.

The MIA boys worked unremittingly and played an incredible game which ended in a well-deserved win.

Go Rays!
