The MIA soccer team is excited for the season that awaits them.

Boys Soccer Season Preview

Practice Schedule: The team is committed to their preparation, practicing four days a week from Monday through Thursday.

Key Seniors: Two senior players, Chase Polley and Ivan Harrison, are expected to be the driving force behind the team’s goal-scoring efforts. Additionally, keep an eye on other standout seniors like Nick Gionet, Wyatt Bailey, and Ryan Sweeney.  They hope to make this last season on the team the most memorable and most successful.

Coaches

  • Head Coach – Senior Higuera
  • Assistant Coach – Mr. Wood

High Expectations: The team is setting high expectations for this season, aiming to improve upon their previous record of 5 wins, 7 losses, and 2 draws. The team is also hoping to win the PCAC championship again.

The Season Ahead:

  • The first game was November 9th against Mason Classical Academy, where they lost a very competitive game 2-1.
  • As of now, there are eleven games scheduled this season, with the final game of the season on January 9th.
  • There are five home games this season and we hope to see you all there.

The Starting 11:

  • Ryan Sweeney (senior – Goalkeeper)
  • Alex Macko (junior – Defender)
  • Ivan Harrison (senior – Defender)
  • Wyatt Bailey (senior – Defender)
  • Christian Hipolito (sophomore – Defender)
  • Blake Parker (junior – Midfield)
  • Gabe Polanco (freshmen – Midfield)
  • Enrique Ramirez-Gildardo (junior – Midfield)
  • Chase Polley (senior – Forward)
  • Alan Thomas (senior – Forward)
  • Collin Grensing (junior – Forward)

Key Factors:

  • With one freshman starting we are interested to see if he can step into a bigger role on the team in the future.
  • With the loss of many standout players who graduated last year, we are hoping to see if they are able to recover and improve.
