Marco Island Academy’s football team played another tough game last night.

MIA just won their first football game in six years! On Friday, September 22, the MIA Rays faced Warner Christian Academy at the home field. The team pulled a win out of a very close game and finished with a score of 32-20.

A large majority of MIA students showed their support for the Rays at the game. The stands were full with viewers on both sides and the sidelines were packed with lawn chairs.

The Rays and Eagles battled back and forth in a very competitive game. By the end of the game, Gavin Wall and Ryan Winterick had each scored two touchdowns for MIA and Alan Thomas had scored one.

Wall finished out the game with a total of 44 yards. Ryan finished out with 106, and Allan ended up with 88 yards. These three players set themselves apart and showed how dedicated they were to the team.

MIA ended this battle with a great win out of an amazing effort from both sides.
