Volleyball Recap 9/20/23

Marco Island Academy’s volleyball team played another great game last night.

Yesterday, our Lady Rays volleyball team won against the Knights in 3 sets at the MIA gym. The Lady’s played efficiently and effectively which was reflected on the court. The scores ended up being 25-5 in the first set, 25-11 in the second set, and 25-11 in the third set. 

Wednesday’s game was led by senior Jenna Ragan, who notched six digs, five aces, and 11 kills, and freshman Sophie Ogdin, with 11 digs and three aces. Dominating the court was sophomore Madison Stolinas, with two digs and 10 aces, sophomore Jayden Ragan with four aces, and sophomore Medney Garraux with four digs and nine kills. Finishing strong were sophomore Rylee Howard, with a dig and seven kills, and junior Karina Baldwin with four digs. 

Today, September 21, 2023, the Lady Rays volleyball team will head off to First Baptist Academy to face the Lions. They are determined to show their confidence, play with their best effort, and take home the win.

Medney Garraux is a sophomore at Marco Island Academy and Staff Writer of The Wave. She plays for the MIA volleyball team as it gives her an opportunity to show her leadership and teamwork skills on and off the court. In her free time she likes to hang out with friends and shop. After her time here at MIA she plans on attending college but is not sure where she wants to go.
