Volleyball Recap 9/12/23

Marco Island Academy’s volleyball team played another great game last night.

Our Lady Rays took home another win on September 12, 2023, against The Shamrocks of Ave Maria Donahue Academy. The final scores tallied 3-0, they quickly breezed through the game. The final scores of the game were 25-16 in the first set, and 25-9 in the second set, and they finished dominantly with a score of 25-16. The MIA Rays volleyball coach was very pleased with how they performed. 

The game was led by Senior Jenna Ragan who notched a pair of aces, four digs, and five kills, and  Jayden Ragan with a pair of aces, four digs, and three kills. Following in her footsteps Medney Garraux with four aces, three digs, and 11 kills, and Rylee Howard with six aces, and five kills. Finishing the game strong was Sophia Ogdin with one ace and five digs, Karina Baldwin with one ace, Madison Stolinas with two aces and one dig, and Amelia Skender with one dig.

Medney Garraux is a sophomore at Marco Island Academy and Staff Writer of The Wave. She plays for the MIA volleyball team as it gives her an opportunity to show her leadership and teamwork skills on and off the court. In her free time she likes to hang out with friends and shop. After her time here at MIA she plans on attending college but is not sure where she wants to go.
