Yesterday, the seniors of MIA gathered together to take photos for the yearbook.
“I enjoyed curating and organizing the senior photos for our yearbook and allowing myself to capture the livelihood of our senior class. Per usual at MIA, we incorporate our tradition by taking the stairway photo for our senior class as well as the class number. This year, we are putting our own spin on the tradition by doing a different wave goodbye photo,” said the Legatum Editor-In-Chief, Kendra Richerts.
As mentioned, they captured many traditional photos such as the Class of 2026 on the bleachers and the stairwell, as well as newer additions such as “The Wave Goodbye” in front of the newly built gate. This allowed the senior class to be photographed with their peers who have experienced this passage of time with them.
These photos capture the cherished memories of gathering everyone together. Now, the Legatum editors are able to move along and progress with the pages showcasing seniors.
“I felt very comfortable with the yearbook staff and I was excited to be able to capture these memories with my friends. I’m also very excited to see how this year’s yearbook turns out.” said MIA senior, Emely Uriza.
“I’m excited for how this yearbook will turn out and I loved how creative the photos were, and it was a fun challenge trying to create the “6” for the “26” photo on the field.” said MIA Senior, Luca Garcia-Perfecto.
Class photos are a core tradition to the MIA yearbooks and every year, the Legatum editors work hard keeping the tradition alive. Legatum, the root of the yearbook, is Latin for “legacy.”
“We hope this year’s yearbook gives students the opportunity to re-experience some of their favorite moments at MIA,” said Executive Editor, Kai Samuel.
Soon after the class photos, senior superlatives were photographed. These were fun, silly photos capturing the winners of senior superlatives, creating a fun, lighthearted environment.
“It was a great way to bond with students. I was not expecting to win any, and it was a great surprise and super exciting,” said MIA senior, John Brueckner.
Additionally, senior portraits have now been completed and are available for purchase along with senior dedication pages.
