The English 3 Honors classes are well into the planning and construction of this year’s Interdisciplinary Projects. With these early submissions now complete, there is a clear sense of the direction each performance is heading.
Some of the most highly anticipated projects are the culinary projects. One of these projects feature foods that would be served at a Gatsby-style party in the 1920s, with Amanda Fonseca and Athena Puell cooking.

Over the weekend, Amanda and Athena completed their first round of cooking in order to record the video portion of the project. They will be serving a full three-course meal: pastry pigs as the appetizer, glazed ham as the entrée, and lemon pound cake for dessert.
“The food came out good for our first time, but it was not very good actually. I don’t think it was edible,” said Amanda.
“It was a pretty funny video,” which she hopes the class will enjoy.
Team members Samuel Zocco, Joaquin Perez, Daniel Netid, and Hannah Saad plan to discuss the harsh topics of the 1920s. Team member Joaquin Perez stated that in order “to fully comprehend the scope of the times, we are going in this with a broader mindset regarding topics that are harsher to modern audiences.”
New talk show hosts have arrived on the scene of MIA. Sophia Ogden, Sarah Freidhoff, Amelia Skender, and Bella Oliver have decided to create an episode of TMZ for the class.
When asked about what to expect from her project, Friedhoff said that students, “can expect a ton of gossip and all the tea spilled, and no one is gonna expect such hard work from us.”

It is safe to expect some fantastic projects from our students. In anticipation of the presentations, Miss Scott said “I am extremely excited to engage in their presentations, and I have extremely high expectations for the work that is to be presented. I can’t wait for some Gatsby Glamour.
