Volleyball Recap 9/11/23

Our MIA Volleyball team went against The Knights at The Village School of Naples on September 11th, 2023. The Lady Rays hit the mark by winning 3-0. They showed determination and sportsmanship throughout the entire game. The final scores were 25-12 in the first set, 25-6 in the second set, and finished Strong with a score of 25-14 in the last set.

The game was led by senior Jenna Ragan and sophomore Rylee Howard, with four kills each. Not far behind was Medney Garraux with 11 kills and Isabella Oliver with a pair of digs. Also assisting the team in victory was Amelia Skender with one dig and ace, Sophie Ogdin with 10 aces, Kamea Blaskovich with one dig and one kill, and Madison Stolinas with a pair of kills.

Medney Garraux is a sophomore at Marco Island Academy and Staff Writer of The Wave. She plays for the MIA volleyball team as it gives her an opportunity to show her leadership and teamwork skills on and off the court. In her free time she likes to hang out with friends and shop. After her time here at MIA she plans on attending college but is not sure where she'll want to go.
