Good morning Marco Island Academy, today is Monday, February 12th, 2024, the WEEK of love, and these are your morning announcements!
General Announcements:
Valentine Waffle Wednesday– Waffle Wednesday is this Wednesday, February 14th. Come to the Love Shack and purchase a warm, sweet, and delicious waffle, plain waffle – $1 dollar, waffle with toppings for $2.00, or to be extra sweet with a waffle and orange juice for $3.
Job Opportunities: The YMCA has several open job positions, including lifeguards, after school counselors, summer camp counselors, and more. See Mrs. Ray for job descriptions and how to apply.
Activities:
SGA Door Decorating Contest.
The theme is: Love is in the air! Decorate only your door, and please don’t cover your window. Stick to the theme and include your mentees! Judging will take place on Friday morning. The winning mentoring class will get donuts!
Sadie Hawkins Dance:
Go to the Retro-Themed Sadie Hawkins Dance this Friday, February 16th! Tickets go on sale on TODAY during both lunches and are only $10. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. Guest forms are now available at the front desk and must be turned in by the 14th. Make sure to check the flyers around the school for additional information.
Spanish Honor Society: Interested in playing in a soccer tournament this spring? The Spanish Honor Society is hosting the first annual Manta Ray Cup! No experience is needed and it’s sure to be a great night of competition and fun!
We will host an interest meeting this Wednesday 02/14 at 3:20 pm in room 137, Señora Walther’s room. Hope to see you there!
Performing Arts:
MIA NIGHT AT THE EVERBLADES: Join us on Saturday, February 24 at the Hertz Arena for MIA Night at the Everblades hockey game. The game starts at 7 pm and tickets are only $18.
