Announcements

Good morning Marco Island Academy, today is Friday, November 17th, 2023, and these are your morning announcements!

General Announcements:

Lost and Found: The lost and found is looking… a little full? 🙁  Please check if you have any items missing, as all items not claimed by December 1st, will be given up for donations. *awhh*

Festival of Nations: The long-awaited FON is finally here! Put on your best performances and grab some grub. A big thank you to everyone participating, including the performers, the bakers, and the staff of the humanity department for their hard work.

Meals of Hope: Meals of Hope is TOMORROW, so don’t forget to come if you signed up. The event starts at 8:00 AM. Make sure to bring a hat if you don’t want to wear a hair net!

Activities

Thespians:

Thespians going to Districts…the competition is in 2 weeks, and some of you have not met with Mr Dayett or filled out the Google Form…or read any post on Band. If you would like to compete, you have until Friday to meet and respond. If not, your name will be submitted to the District for drop at 5 pm on Friday, and you will receive a bill for the fine.

Girls Learn International: 1-2-3-4, we declare a Penny War. If you have spare change, then use it to CHANGE our community, where all funds will go to the Shelter for Abused Women and Children in Naples. The Penny War lasts until November 30th, and the winning grade level will get a pizza party at lunch. Check out the Penny War and rules in the front lobby today.

Fishing Club: The fishing club is sponsoring the 2nd annual Thanksgiving Break Tournament. Sign-up and tournament details are outside of room 133. $10 buy-in, everyone is encouraged to participate.

Interact:

Toy Drive– The annual MIA Toy Drive has officially started and will continue through December 8th. It provides Christmas morning for underprivileged children who need the magic of Santa’s under the Christmas Tree. Anyone who can donate presents (unwrapped) to place under the MIA tree (by Miss Scott’s office) will count as 1 hour for each toy donated. The gifts will be distributed at the Christmas Parade into the big sleigh next to the Christmas Island Style judges.

Decorating: It’s TIME:  We need as much help as possible to decorate the school for the holidays today after school! Anyone can come help with the holiday fun! See you there 🙂

Athletes:

Soccer:  Great job to both boys and girls soccer teams in there games against Southwest Florida Christan Academy! Our girls team won 5-0  and the boys also took home the dub 4-3. Great job de-throning those kings!  Go Rays!

Daily Affirmation: Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.”

Have a FON Friday!
