Fishing Club

At Marco Island Academy, students are casting more than just lines; they’re casting friendships, skills, and a deeper appreciation for the outdoors. The fishing club is a new club that has been at MIA for at least 5 years. It is held by Mr. Montgomery every Wednesday morning from 7:45-8:15 in room 133.

The fishing club lets students show why they love fishing. They aim to get their fishing out into the community. It holds events for people who aren’t even in the fishing club, however, the people who are in come together to do events and challenges. With its growing popularity, the MIA Fishing Club proves that outdoor hobbies still have a place in modern student life. Mr. Montgomery’s remark is that “fishing isn’t just about catching fish.
