Good morning Marco Island Academy, today is Monday, April 22nd, 2024, and these are your morning announcements!

General Announcements: 

Activities: 

Prom: Attention juniors and seniors – Prom tickets are on sale during both lunches!!!   

If you plan on bringing someone from outside the school, pick up your guest forms from Mrs.Kraft at the front desk.  The last day to turn in guest forms is May 3rd and the last day to purchase tickets is May 6th. We are so excited to see you in the Enchanted Forest on May 11th in the Marriott ballroom.

Performing Arts: Little Shop had a wonderful premiere weekend, and you don’t want to miss the show! Grab your tickets for THIS upcoming weekend – Friday at 7:00pm or the Saturday matinee at 2:00pm -before it’s too late. Visit MIATheatre.com or scan the QR code around campus.

Fishing Club: This upcoming weekend – the 26th to the 28th – the MIA Fishing Club is hosting its first annual Snook Seasonal fishing tournament. There is a $10 buy-in, and the winner is decided by who catches the biggest snook! Stop by Mr. Montgomery’s room to sign up if you are interested.

Athletics:

Cheerleading: Interested in trying out for Fall Cheer? Please make sure to join our Band App for information regarding tryouts. Please see the flyers around the school with information on how to join, or come and see Mrs. Gutwerk with any questions!

Baseball: PCAC tournament begins today. 

Football: The MIA Football will have a mandatory team meeting on Wednesday afterschool in Coach Montgomery’s room starting promptly at 3:30. This will be a short meeting that will discuss the upcoming goals and objectives for spring practices. These will begin next Monday April 29. 

Amy Poehler said, “Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.” Manta Ray Football offers that opportunity, it is up to you to join. GO RAYYSSS !!!
