Activities:
Powderpuff: We are ready to ruuuuuuuuuuuumble! If you have turned in your consent form and have your physical on file, be sure to bring your A-game to practice today after school.
Spanish Honor Society: ¡Hola MIA! To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, the Spanish Honor Society will be hosting its third Pulsera Project bracelet sale and will be selling nachos and horchata at lunch tomorrow! The bracelets are $7 each, and all proceeds benefit the Pulsera Project, a nonprofit organization that helps provide work opportunities to those struggling in the impoverished nations of Nicaragua and Guatemala. Come hungry for some delicious comida and ready to shop!
SGA – Homecoming: Spend a night in Greece!! Get your tickets now for the MIA Homecoming Dance. Ticket sales start at $80 and then go up to $100 the week of homecoming, so make sure you get them as soon as possible. They will be sold during A and B lunches. Homecoming is October 21st, so save the date to dance your way through the night and be a dancing queen!! Reminder: guest forms are at the front desk. Ask Mrs. Kraft for one if needed.
SGA – Spirit Week: Spirit Week starts in only two weeks! Get ready to dress up to show off your school spirit, starting with your “gone fishing vs. gone golfing” wear on Tuesday, October 17th.
History and Culture Club:
Bonjour, Bonjour! If you are still hoping to see the Eiffel Tower, climb to the top of the Swiss Alps, visit Bavarian villages and castles, and attend a Eurocup Soccer game in Munich, then you had better hurry up and register for the History and Culture Club trip for 2024. There are only FIVE spots left. The trip is now open for all current students to register. Enrollment will close soon though and we will go to a waitlist. See Mrs. G or Senor for more information before you miss out. Merci Rays!
Athletics:
Volleyball: Unfortunately the quote-unquote SFCA King’s are afraid to play the mighty Manta Rays, and are opting to cancel this Thursday’s game. (Boooooooo) MIA will be referring to SFCA as the chickens from here on out. Bok-bawwwwk!!! Don’t forget to mark your calendar for next Thursday’s PCAC final game at 6:00pm!
Baseball: TODAY, October 4th, there will be an after school interest meeting for the boys’ MIA Baseball team held in Señor’s room.
Lacrosse: Now, there will be an interest meeting for boys lacrosse tomorrow, Thursday, October 5th, at 6:15, I repeat 6:15 pm in Señor’s room. Can’t wait to see you there! Go Rays!
Daily Affirmation: “Our daily habits and decisions have a huge impact on both our success and happiness.”
