Good morning Marco Island Academy, it is Friday, SEPTEMBER 15, 2023, and these are your morning announcements!
General Announcements:
College and Career Night: Next Tuesday, September 18, a College and Career Night is being held at Golden Gate High School from 5:30-7:30pm. Check out your “Class of” Google Classroom to see the colleges that will be attending and for additional information.
Yearbook: Reminder: FRESHMAN yearbook portraits are on Tuesday September 19, all 9th graders need to be ready for their pictures on Tuesday. Make sure to not wear light blue!!
Job Opportunity: Cocomo’s Grill is hiring. They are in need of two hostesses and a food runner. Please apply in person if you are interested.
Activities:
Thespians Fundraiser: Pizza, pasta, wings, gyros, sushi, and so much more! On Monday, September 18th, grab takeout or dine in from 4-10 p.m. at the only Sami’s Pizza and Grill on Marco Island. Tell them you are from MIA, and 10% of the sales go back to our MIA Thespians to help send them to Districts.
SGA: Let’s get ready to ruuuuuuummmmmmmmmble!!! It is Powderpuff time! The duel between pink and blue is back and will be played on October 18th. Ladies interested in playing and gentlemen interested in cheering them on, please join us for an interest meeting next Thursday, September 21st, after school in Mrs. Walther’s Room, room 137.
Athletics:
Football: Tonight the MIA football team plays the Gators at Glades Day Academy at 7:00 pm. Lets make some Gator bites!
Soccer: There is a girls soccer interest meeting on Tuesday, September 19th after school. If you have interest in soccer, exercising is a great way to prepare.
Cross Country: Good luck to our MIA cross country team tomorrow in their meet against Southwest Florida Christian! Lets run like the wind!
Volleyball: Congrats to our lady rays for beating Mason Classical in three sets last night! Whoop Whoop! Go Rays!
