Good morning Marco Island Academy, it is WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2023, and these are your morning announcements!
General Announcements:
College and Career Night: Next Tuesday, September 18, a College and Career Night is being held at Golden Gate High School from 5:30-7:30 PM. Check out your “Class of” Google Classroom to see the colleges that will be attending and for additional information.
Google Classrooms: Attention all students, please make sure you’re checking your “Class of” Google Classrooms. Posted on them are college visits, information on career night, scholarships, and more. And wait… you can ALSO find your academic assignments in there too. If you aren’t in your grade specific Google Classroom, please speak to your mentor.
Class of 2024 Google Classroom Updates: Information on your SSARS for your college applications and the scholarship connector has been recently added as well.
Yearbook: Shout out to our Seniors for being so cooperative yesterday. Today is our second day of senior portraits. Make sure you’re following your time slots on both release and picture times.
Job Opportunity: Cocomo’s Grill is hiring. They are in need of two hostesses and a food runner. Please apply in person if you are interested.
Activities:
SGA: Let’s get ready to ruuuuuuummmmmmmmmble!!! It is Powderpuff time! The duel between pink and blue is back and will be played on October 18th. Ladies interested in playing and gentlemen interested in cheering them on, please join us for an interest meeting on Thursday, September 21st, after school in Mrs. Walther’s Room, room 137.
ECO Club: Tomorrow after school there will be an ECO Club meeting in Mrs. Dickson’s room. This meeting is open for anyone interested to attend. If you love the environment and want hands-on experience while learning, check it out!
Athletics:
Soccer: There is a girls soccer interest meeting on Tuesday, September 19th after school. If you have interest in soccer, exercising is a great way to prepare. That one’s free, see Mr. Miller with a five in hand for additional advice.
Volleyball: Great job to the lady rays last night at Donahue! The girls volleyball team won 3-0 against the shamrocks. Woop wooop!
Golf: Shout out to the MIA golf team in their match against Village School yesterday!
Baseball: Yep, there is still an interest form for the MIA baseball team on Mr. Miller’s door. Come check it out! Go Rays!
Daily Affirmation: “I’m not going to continue knocking that old door that doesn’t open for me. I’m going to create my own door and walk through that.”
