Good morning Marco Island Academy, it is THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd, 2022, HOMECOMING WEEK continues, and these are your morning announcements!

General Announcements

College Visits:  College reps will be visiting MIA to discuss their schools and answer any questions. These opportunities are open to all grade levels.  

Upcoming Visits: FGCU-Sept 30th, Florida Southern-Oct. 4,  and University of Florida-Oct. 4

           Sign-ups are posted in Google classrooms.  You must sign-up in advance to attend.

Athletics:  All athletes, if you want to attend homecoming, your athletic fees must be paid. 

Volleyball: Tonight, we will travel to take on the Titans on our volleyball team at Golden Gate High School. Go Rays!

Activities:

SGA – Spirit Week: We love seeing all the fabulous duos and groups showing off their spirit. Tomorrow, we will check back with the different decades!

Homecoming Dance: The Marco Island Hilton has so kindly allowed all homecoming attendants to park FOR FREE! They have asked for everyone to carpool as they have construction in the parking lot. 

Thespians: There will be a very brief Thespians meeting after school this Friday. Registration forms for Districts will be available starting Friday.

Performing Arts: Interested in writing a play or screenplay? Mr. Dayett is teaching a free playwriting class through the Young Artists Academy at the Marco Island Center for the Arts starting in October. There are only a few spots left. See Mr. Dayett for a registration form. 

NHS: Good morning NHS members! Please remember to bring Mr. Wolfe your dues and induction card no later than Tuesday, September 27th! These must be turned in to participate in the induction ceremony next week.

Interact: As a Homecoming treat, there will not be a meeting tomorrow.  Instead, take a little extra time to put together your spirit day outfit for DECADES DAY!!!!  We’ll miss you!
