General Announcements

College Visits:  We are pleased to announce that a representative from several colleges will be coming to MIA to discuss their schools and to answer any questions you may have about the application process.  These opportunities are open to all grade levels.  

Ringling College of Art & Design – Sept 19th

Florida Polytechnic – Sept 21st

FGCU – Sept 30th

Look for the sign-ups posted in Google classroom.  You must sign-up in advance.

Athletics:  Alllll athletes, please ensure that you pay your athletic fee prior to homecoming.  

Volleyball:  After both JV and Varsity wins last week, Varsity is looking to take another tonight against the Mason Classical Paladins… come dressed in your PAJAMAS at 6:00pm, as we quickly put them to bed. 

Lacrosse:  Calling all boys interested in playing MIA lacrosse in the Spring…please sign-up on the sheet that is with Miss Amelia at the front desk.  The sign-up sheet will be available for one more week.  Go Rays!

Activities:  

Key Club: today is the start of Kleefstra Syndrome awareness week! Please bring money for the bakesale tomorrow and bracelets being sold this week! On Friday we will also show our support by wearing all purple!

SGA: Ready for a totally groovy, sparkling, disco good time?  Homecoming 2022, Night at the Disco will be September 24th at the Marco Island Hilton. Tickets are on sale during A and B lunches! THIS IS THE LAST WEEK AT THIS PRICE.  Need a guest form? Please pick one up at the front desk today.   All guest forms must be approved before purchasing a ticket and submitted by September 16.  SGA officers will meet today at 3:15 in Mrs. Higuera’s office.

Lip Sync: Is YOUR class the TOP RAY at MIA?  Then, PROVE IT!  Show off your skills in your Class Lip Sync, and try to take the top prize.  See the fliers around school for more info!

Spirit Week: HOMECOMING week is now only a week away with Monday, September 19 marking our first Spirit Day with Adam Sandler Day…

THESPIANS: As a reminder, registration for the District competition is less than 3 weeks away.

• For the latest Thespian information, see the bulletin board outside Mr. Dayett’s room, room 228, and join the BAND app page!
• Save the date! The Thespians will host a game/open mic night this Friday from 6-8:30pm on the mezzanine.

Spanish Honor Society: Spanish Honor Society will be meeting in room 137, Sra. Walther’s room TODAY at 3:30 pm.  We highly encourage any students who love language and culture and are interested in becoming a part of the Spanish Honor Society. We love new members!
