Science National Honors Society

SNHS is a club at MIA that focuses on scientific endeavors and works to involve more people in the scientific community. They are involved in volunteering activities to help spread the good word about science as well.

Mr. Swope, one of the science instructors at MIA, runs the club. Responsibilities are also delegated among three student-officers; President Haylen Irvan, Treasurer Lily Braun and Vice President Rachel Weiner.

Their current efforts are included but are not limited to establishing the schoolwide recycling program that is still being used today. Lily also spoke to me about how SNHS would like to develop and run a science-themed summer camp for kids.

SNHS members typically meet bi-weekly and can be found in Mr. Swope’s classroom every other Friday.
