During a pandemic, things can get a little boring being stuck at home. Without something to do, the days may seem long and unfulfilled. One thing to keep in mind is everyone is in the same boat as everyone else. Instead of lying in bed all day doing nothing, find some things to occupy yourself with. Another topic that allows your creativity to shine is baking. When baking, you are in full control of what the outcome looks like. Whether the frosting is blue or pink, you get to design it to your liking. Baking during quarantine also gives you the opportunity to let someone know you care about them. Making some cookies for your grandma and leaving them at her door is a great way to show appreciation for someone. Baking is also a good stress reliever. It makes you feel happier as you practice patience and let your creative juices flow. Everyone loves a sweet treat once in a while, so bake something.
While baking is fun and all, eating too many sweets is bad for you. Being stuck in quarantine, you may start eating because you are bored, not actually hungry. This is a perfect time to do simple, at home workouts to prepare that summer body. Exercising reduces the risk of heart diseases, controls your weight, improves your mental health, and many more. With the gyms being closed during this pandemic, you may find trouble completing a preferred workout, but that shouldn’t stop you. Being stuck in the same house and looking at the same things for weeks can get very boring. This is a perfect time to rearrange things or make something more organized and clean. Organizing gives you a sense of control and reduces the feeling of being overwhelmed. It also reduces your stress level and allows you to gain energy and calmness from whatever it is you are organizing. Friends and family are all stuck at home with nothing to do along with everyone else. This is a great opportunity to write a letter to a loved one or send video chats to those you know to keep in touch. Writing letters to someone will give that person a burst of excitement. It’s fun, promotes mindfulness, and stimulates creativity. In today’s world, you can send someone a message in a matter of seconds. Writing letters means more to that person because you put more time and effort into it. Grandparents especially love receiving mail, so write some letters to those you know and love, it’ll mean a lot.
