The scene of the accident 3 days later at 9pm.

On Easter Sunday at 9pm, a tourist from Cold Spring, Kentucky was killed on Marco Island. The individual in question was 75 years old. The accident occurred along Barfield. While the man did make it into the ambulance, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Emergency response vehicles had sectioned off the area near the park at 400 N Barfield.

“They had the whole section of the road blocked off… It wasn’t apparent what was going on.” -MIA senior Jenna Golec, who drove past the scene of the accident.

Golec stated that the car appeared to be in its lane and that upon initially seeing the scene, she wouldn’t have guessed that a pedestrian had been hit. The car was reportedly not close to the sidewalk.

It is currently unknown whether or not any sort of controlled substance or alcohol contributed to the crash and is still under investigation.
