Good morning Marco Island Academy, it is THURSDAY, March 30, 2023, and these are your morning announcements!   

General Announcements:

Seniors: It’s college commitment season, and The Wave wants to celebrate your futures. Please email [email protected] with a photo of yourself, your major, and your future school – ALL paths included because everyone deserves to be celebrated!

The Jumpstart Scholarship has been released.  Check out your Google Classroom for additional information.

Winged Foot Scholarship : For any SENIOR interested, please pick up the scholarship forms from Mr. Miller; they are due by April 6.

Lucky Raffle: Make sure you have your tickets for tomorrow’s Lucky Raffle. We will continue the raffle every Friday so don’t lose those tickets. 

Athletics:    

Tennis: Congratulations to the boys tennis team last night on a come from behind 4-3 win against Immokalee. 

Baseball: Last night our boys CRUSHED the Paladins of Mason Classical with a 10-0 win. Go Rays!

Activities: 

Girls Learn International:  Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of an international team of strong activists and generational leaders? Would you like to help build a powerful movement of informed advocates dedicated to universal education right here at MIA?  For the first time in 5 years, MIA is reintroducing Girls Learn International, a program focused on educating and empowering high school students to fight for a fairer, brighter world.  An interest meeting will take place the morning of Wednesday, April 5th, in Mr. Scalia’s room, Room 233, at 7:45am. For more information be sure to visit the link provided in Google Classroom.  MIA GLI invites anyone and everyone, and we can’t wait to see you there. 

Performing Arts: Tickets for Superhero are now on sale. You can purchase your tickets online for only $10 by visiting MIATheatre.com or by scanning the QR codes around campus. 

SGA: 

Powder Puff: Let’s geeeeeeet ready to rumble!!! Ladies interested in playing in the Powderpuff game on May 8th and gentlemen interested in cheering them on, please join us for an interest meeting Wednesday, April 5th, after school in Mrs. Walther’s Room, room 137.

Prom Tickets: Unveil your dance moves on the night of the Masquerade Ball during Prom 2023 at the JW Marriott.   Prom is on Saturday, May 13th, but tickets go on sale THIS Monday April 3 to SENIORS FIRST.  Senior privilege lasts through April 14th, and tickets will be sold for $100.00 during A and B lunches.
