Remember When: Elementary Books

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Remember when binge reading all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kids was more than just a necessity. Following Greg Heffley and his wacky life while he goes through middle school. Going down to the library in elementary school and finding one of these books was like striking gold for a day. I thought they stopped making them once I reached middle school but apparently they are on book 18 in the series.

Junie B. Jones

Remember the books about the 1st grader Junie B. Jones who would close her eyes tight to take a mental picture and remember it for later. She was also the quirky and weird girl who couldn’t spell to save her life. This book is supposed to be made into a tv show in the near future from Nickelodeon, so we haven’t heard the last of her just yet.

No David!

Remember the books about David, the mischievous kid who could only do wrong. This little kid with his iconic striped blue shirt causing something  to go wrong at every turn. This book later became a series of them with other iconic books like “David Goes to School” and “David Gets in Trouble.” This iconic series has become classic and timeless.

Ready, Freddy

Remember the books about Freddy, the kid who wore a shark tooth who never had a dull moment in his young life. With books like “Don’t sit on My Lunch!” and “Tooth Trouble” this series has been severely underrated by everyone. It has flown under the radar of childhood books even though it was quite popular at the time.

Geronimo Stilton

Remember the books following the editor of The Rodent’s Gazette and his crazy stories as he solved mysteries left and right. Joined usually with his immediate family and some friends, you would usually follow him through New Mouse City or the countless other places that he went to. When reading these books there was never a wasted moment reading these books.
