Paulina Kaminski

Senior Spotlight: Paulina Kaminski

Paulina Kaminski came to Marco Island Academy her senior year from California. Paulina joined Thespians when they went to districts. Paulina says that her experience acting at MIA and being in Thespians has been great and that the biggest thing that she has learned has been how to better analyze body language and the actions of the characters that she plays. “It shines a new light on how I look at people and it’s great”,  says Paulina. Paulina says that her favorite acting experience is when she went to Fort Lauderdale for a competition and scored really well on her performance. She also says that the overall experience was really fun.

Apart from MIA productions, Paulina has participated in productions in middle school and she would like to explore other opportunities outside of school and thespians. Paulina looks forward to auditioning for a big play one play. Aside from theater, Paulina has participated in NPL soccer and tutoring young kids in math and reading. Paulina says that balancing school and work is very overwhelming sometimes, but in her free time she enjoys playing video games, listening to cool music, and hanging out with friends.

Paulina became a part of thespians her senior year. “Thespians definitely welcomed me with open arms.” Paulina says. Being a thespian taught her about dedication and creativity. Paulina says that she loves how so many people come together just to ‘push their talent and passion out into the world.’

Academically, Paulina tends to excel in sciences such as chemistry and environmental studies. Paulina has always excelled in science-based classes because she genuinely finds it interesting, and it doesn’t feel like work.

Paulina wants to pursue the science field in college if anything and Paulina says that Chemistry seems like the most interesting thing she could pursue at a college level. Once she graduates high school, she hopes to go to college and then pursue medical school which has been her goal since she was little.
