This week, the Marco Island Academy Fishing Club announced that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is officially a part of the club. The Fishing Club is getting a $500 grant from FWC, which may be matched by Physicians Regional Medical Center. The Fishing Club could have up to $1,000 to put towards supplies like shirts and other necessary materials. Additionally, the club announced that they have scheduled their first inshore fishing tournament, and an event taking place on Valentines Day.
