The volleyball team at MIA has been very successful this year. They consistently showcase determination, effort, and teamwork in every match. From the five set battles to their conclusive wins, these players have really showcased their skills so far. Every game has been a step forward in the right direction.
The Lady Rays attended the Estero Wildcat Tournament on October 4, 2025. They placed second overall, beating the number seven ranked team in the state. The tournament brought the team closer together and helped set them up for success for their post season.
With the post season underway, the Lady Rays are ready for what is ahead of them. They recently played the Kings of Southwest Florida Christian Academy. They beat them in three sets, and advanced to the district semi finals against the Celtics of Saint John Neumann.
The Lady Rays beat the Celtics in three sets, making this the first time in MIA history that the volleyball team will be competing for a district title. This was more than just a game for the Rays. This was personal. With the Rays beating the Celtics two years in a row, the Celtics were determined to win. They could not beat the Rays even with the home court advantage. The Rays also received a transfer from the Celtics this season and that made this game that much more important for the Rays.
The Lady Rays went up against the Lions of First Baptist Academy for the District Championship and they lost in three straight sets. The Lady Rays fell short of the District Title. They will get a chance to redeem themselves and play in the Regional tournament next week.
With the notable win against the Celtics, the Rays will get a chance to host a regional quarter final which has never happened before. The Rays will get a chance at regionals and from there, they will play until they lose.
