‘Short n’ Sweet (Deluxe’ was officially released on February 14th, 2025. With a total of five brand new songs as an addition to the album, it includes one original collaboration which hasn’t been seen previously in her other songs. Ranging from topics of heartbreak, self-importance, and romantic endeavors it adds a brand new creative aspect to the album in itself.
15 Minutes: 8/10
‘15 Minutes’ is the first track on the deluxe “Short n’ Sweet”, and the thirteenth song on the album overall. This song completes the album by diving into the topic of love and growth. Obviously including some sexual innuendos, however it shapes how she has changed as an individual overtime. The title ‘15 Minutes’ though is explaining that she will explain what she can do with her fifteen minutes of fame. The melodies and beats throughout this song make it very enjoyable to listen to and give a sense of joy.
Please Please Please (feat. Dolly Parton): 7/10
‘Please Please Please’, which features Dolly Parton, is a reworked version of her previous song ‘Please Please Please’ on the album. This is her only collaboration on the entire album, and it holds a strong country influence with the guitar playing and total tune. Which makes complete sense for Parton to feature on this. This song brings a new twist to the original song and can be a new favorite amongst many.
Couldn’t Make It Any Harder: 10/10
The song ‘Couldn’t Make It Any Harder’ is a musical masterpiece. The calm melodies can put you in an emotional mood with the lyrics reflecting on romantic detachment. Sabrina Carpenter makes it known that she is tired out from her past relationships and makes a jab at her recent ex boyfriend who only wanted to dive into sexual behaviors. The lyric “I know you’re frustrated, ‘cause I will not let you touch me” explores this idea that he only wanted her for one thing but she would not let it happen. ‘Couldn’t Make It Any Harder’ is ultimately about not sticking around for her ex boyfriend’s foolish behaviors and it makes a statement for sure.
Busy Woman: 10/10
‘Busy Woman’ was originally released as a digital bonus track on the album but later officially released on the deluxe version for everyone to listen to. This song balances the idea of self-importance and priorities in context to romantic desires rather than waiting around for something to happen in her love life randomly. She explains the fact that her music career is a huge part of her life but for her relationships she is willing to make a change and prioritize that romance. The humor in this song adds a bit of fun to ‘Busy Woman’ as it challenges her idea of not being wanted. In the lyric “Yeah, I’m a busy woman. I wouldn’t let you come into my calendar any night.” it adds a comedic effect to the song even as she explains the idea that she won’t let a guy do whatever he wants.
Bad Reviews: 10/10
‘Bad Reviews’ is the last track on the deluxe album and was announced to be on the deluxe album on February 4th. It explores the idea of her sticking in her relationships despite people disliking them, in this case the public. However, it hints as a jab towards her ex boyfriend as a lyric exclaims “All the friends tryna save me, well, I, I cut them loose. ‘Cause I refuse to be wrong again.” in the context that everyone was telling her how bad her ex boyfriend was but she didn’t want to be wrong. The melodies add to the dramatics of this song and highlight the true pop genre.
