Horror movies are a favorite genre for many, but some movies bring shame and disgrace to the genre as a whole. Horror movies should have twists and turns, jumpscares, good CGI, and overall, a good storyline. Good storylines are crucial but often lost when making horror films. This is mostly because the movie is focusing too much on gore and scares and not enough on making the movie actually worth watching. Here are what I believe to be the worst of the worst horror movies.
Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023)
Honestly, I do not know whose idea it was to make a children’s cartoon a horror movie, but they do not need to be in the movie industry. This movie was disturbing. While yes, the idea of making a cartoon into live-action is crazy, making it a horror/slasher movie is next level. Who wouldn’t love to see their favorite childhood cartoon characters violently murdering people?
The Tooth Fairy (2006) This movie was terrifying. Again, it took innocent childhood characters and turned them into nightmares. Whose idea was this?
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)
The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie was a flop. The original was and still is a Halloween favorite, but the new movie was giving younger siblings trying to be like their older siblings. You know what they say: “Nobody is better than the original.”
Jaws: The Revenge (1987)
I personally don’t think shark movies should fall into the category of horror, but many think otherwise. Jaws: The Revenge is a sequel that just outright failed. I guess it gets to a point where the idea of a psychotic killer shark just gets old.
Halloween (1978)
Yes. I know this is a controversial pick, but this movie is incredibly overhyped. When I first watched this movie, I hoped to watch what some call “the best scary movie of all time.” Though the Classic has produced 13 movies, the movie is very boring, and there is literally no story there. To put it clearly, I was very disappointed and very bored.
