On Friday October 25, 2024 Marco Island Academy had their homecoming pep rally!
The pep rally was opened up by the very talented Academy of Rock! They sang Pink Pony Club in and rocked the day away! They brought an energy and life to start off the pep rally.
Next, a very impressive routine was performed by the Marco Island Academy cheer team. They performed a mashup of hit songs, all choreographed perfectly. This dance was choreographed by the four senior captains: Karina, Cassie, Veronica, and Alyssa.
After the cheerleader performs for the school, students were called down to participate in a scavenger hunt. This was a very intense game, and the representative for each grade had to rush to find the following items: a claw clip, a converse, a croc, and a blue clapper. The hardest item to find was a claw clip. There was only one found throughout the whole gym which intensified the competition. The winner of this game was Noah Smith!
Another game played was the mummy wrap challenge. A few members from each grade got wrapped up by streamers and this game ended up being a close matchup. The winners of this challenge were the sophomore Ava richardson, Brinley Hefflin, and Ansley Carmignani
This was then followed up by recognizing some senior fall athletes from the golf, cheer, football, and the swim team. Marco Island Academy is glad to have so many great seniors representing our school.
And then the games began! After recognizing the senior athletes, the rally was continued with games that demonstrated school spirit. These games hyped each student up, and also allowed each class to cheer on their classmates. These games caused exciting rivalry between each grade, but in the end, allowed the student body to unite.
The first game was to guess the song. The students playing this game had to run across the basketball court and guess the songs that played. The winners of this game were the teachers, Mr. Swope and Mr. Ginther.
Another game played involved a hula hoop and four participants. Whichever team could successfully pass the hula hoop through the line of people won. The seniors came in clutch and led their grade to victory. This team included Addison Clemons, Jessica Vorderstrasse, Alyssa Polaco, and Ella Nelson.
In between games, the hostesses Medney Guraux and Lily Tessarzik announced the homecoming court winners from each grade. The freshmen representatives were Liv Sanford and Elifer Ramirez Patzan. The sophomores were Brinley Hefflin and Zach Massie. The juniors were Lily Chiscavage and Kai Schertell. Lastly the senior representatives were Lucy Mcfarland and Maximo Walters, Michelle Acosta and Cade Scarnavack, Layla Platt and Gavin Wall, and Cassie Letendre and Colin Cherr.
