Friday Night Showdown
This Friday, October 27th, at our very own MIA field, the long awaited yearly Powderpuff game is almost here! It’s that time of the year again where girls swap their cheer pom-poms and grab their flags and mouth guards.
It’s senior and freshman girls in hot pink, of course, v.s. the unstoppable, okay, slightly stoppable juniors and sophomores, rocking their blue. At Powderpuff we have Senior Night! At 4:30 PM, we’ll be honoring our amazing seniors as they walk the field with their loved ones.
At halftime, the celebration of this year’s homecoming court will be recognized! When the game finally pauses, the court will take center field. Who will be crowned king and queen? Come find out and cheer on your favorite nominees!
The Battle of Pink v.s. Blue
The girls will be split by grade into two teams: Pink (seniors and freshmen) and Blue (juniors and sophomores). There will be a lot of shouting, accidental flag grabbing instead of the football, and maybe an intersection or two if we’re lucky. But the score doesn’t even matter. What matters is the bragging rights that come with winning. Seniors are entering the game with the “We’re older and wiser” attitude, while the juniors are all, “If our football team can do it, then we can for sure!” The freshmen? They’re just hoping not to get targeted by the seniors. The sophomores? Well, they’re just happy to be included.
The MIA soccer field is where it’s all going down. Bring your school spirit, some noise, and a lot of energy, this is going to be a night full of laughs!
