Marco Island Academy (MIA) is thrilled to announce the addition of Mr. Doebert to its loving staff. Being a new high school English teacher, Mr. Doebert brings a variety of knowledge and enthusiasm to his role, ready to inspire the next generation of students here at MIA.
A graduate of St. Bonaventure University, located in New York, Mr. Doebert holds a degree in English. Additionally, he is an acclaimed member of Sigma Tau Delta, the international honor society for English students. A proud achievement of Mr. Doebert’s career is his work for The Laurel, which St. Bonaventure website declares as the, “The Nation’s Oldest Continuously-Published College Literary Magazine”. Mr. Doebert has also made notable contributions to the field of procedural rhetoric through his academic paper on the video game Fall Out: New Vegas, presented at the University at Buffalo’s English Student Association Undergraduate Conference.
Before becoming a part of MIA, Mr. Doebert was a teacher at Mason Classical Academy. Furthermore, he served as a substitute teacher at CS Driver Middle School located in Marcellus, New York. His time at Mason Classical Academy demonstrated his commitment to classical education.
Mr. Doebert’s path was heavily influenced by his parents, which led him to his career in education. Inspired by his mother, who is an art teacher, and his father, an experienced engineer, he was exposed to the importance of education and leadership from a young age. His family’s influence shaped his teaching method, demonstrating flexibility, discipline, and the importance of understanding each student’s personal story.
At Marco Island Academy, Mr. Doebert is especially drawn to the school’s commitment to motivating students and creating a supportive community. “MIA is dedicated to making a positive impact on students’ lives and instilling values that extend beyond the classroom,” Mr. Doebert expressed. Outside of the classroom, Mr. Doebert enjoys lifting weights, reading science fiction and psychology books, and engaging in thoughtful discussions about life’s mysteries. His personal interests and his background in technical writing and journalism bring a unique perspective to his teaching approach.
