A new, creative and empathetic teacher has joined the MIA staff for the 2024-2025 school year. Mrs. Pisculli was born in New Jersey and moved to Florida in 2010 while she was in middle school.
Ms. Pisculli went to Marco Island Academy for high school and was even taught by Mr. Totten and former MIA teacher Mr. Eder. Mr. Totten said that when she was in high school, she was, “Amazing, one of the nicest people I’ve ever known and one of the most talented people I’ve ever known.” Ms. Pisculli loved her time as a student here at MIA and emphasized that everyone here was great and helped her a lot during her time as a MIA student. Her wonderful experience here at MIA was part of why Ms. Pisculli decided to work here. She stated that teaching at MIA has been a dream come true for her.
Ms. Pisculli went to the University of Central Florida from 2016-2020. She chose to teach art classes because she was inspired by her time with teachers Mr. Totten and Mr. Eder. They showed her how much she enjoyed painting and drawing. Ms. Pisculli describes her teaching style as, “patient and flexible” and she really values being kind and understanding.
Outside of school, Ms. Pisculli enjoys reading and playing video games. Her favorite video game is Legend of Zelda and she is currently playing Skyrim.
We are ecstatic to welcome Ms. Pisculli to MIA and are sure she will be a great addition to our MIA family.
