On Thursday, August 22, 2024, Starbucks added five seasonal drinks to their fall menu. The new drinks consisted of the pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin cream cold brew, iced pumpkin cream chai, and apple crisp oatmeal macchiato. While I have tasted some of these items before, I tasted the remaining to provide my own honest review.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
The pumpkin spice latte is definitely a fall favorite. This cozy fall drink is a classic and checks most of my boxes. When I tasted it, it was very sweet and had the perfect balance of pumpkin and coffee. If you’re really in the mood for some strong pumpkin spice and a kick of energy, this is the drink that I recommend to you. This coffee has 150 milligrams of caffeine with 390 calories and retails for $6.25. I am personally not a fan of super sweet and heavy drinks, and I do think this was both of them. However, this would be a very good sweet treat coming into the fall season. Overall, I would rate this drink a 4 out of 5 stars.
Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew
The pumpkin cream cold brew was personally my favorite out of all the fall drinks that I tried. I loved this drink because it had the perfect balance of coffee and pumpkin cream cold foam. If you want something that has a strong coffee flavor along with some pumpkin, this is the drink for you. I found the pumpkin cream cold foam very good. The pumpkin cream cold foam adds a nice touch to the coffee, and the cinnamon on top finishes off this fall drink. This item has the least amount of calories with 250. It also contains 185 milligrams of caffeine, costing $5.45. Overall, I rate this drink five out of five stars.
Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai
The iced pumpkin cream chai has been a hit since 2023. When it returned to the menu this fall, I was very excited. When I first tasted it, it was very sweet, and it had the perfect hint of spice. I personally liked the taste of the chai in this drink, but if you aren’t a tea drinker, this may not be the fall drink for you. A grande retails for $6.25, and has 460 calories with 95 milligrams of caffeine. I do think that this drink is overpriced, but it makes for a perfect fall treat every now and then. Overall, I would rate it a four out of five stars.
Apple Crisp Oatmeal Macchiato
The new apple crisp oatmeal macchiato takes me back to the nostalgic fall days in Colorado. Each sip that I took had the perfect blend of crisp apples and warm cinnamon. I really enjoyed the combination of apples and cinnamon in this drink because it really brought out the fall vibes and made it so delicious. Additionally, this drink costs $6.45 and has 310 calories along with 170 milligrams of caffeine. I do think this drink was pretty sweet, which isn’t for me, but it was still good. Overall, I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars.
I highly recommend trying these drinks if you want to indulge in a fall-sweet treat. Let us know how you felt about these drinks and which is your favorite!
