The voice of the student.

Senior Spotlight: Sommar Kashey

Sommar Kashey has been at MIA all four years and has been a cheerleader here all four years as well. She is an active student-athlete as she is involved in soccer and track at the school as well. When Sommar isn’t indulging herself in sports or her dual-enrollment courses, she spends time with family and friends.

She plans to attend college after graduating, however, she is still determining her decision on where she will attend. Sommar does know the path she wants to take as she wants to pursue a degree in forensic chemistry.

Looking back on these last four years she doesn’t have one single favorite memory of cheerleading at MIA. Sommar says that she has made an accumulation of memories that have been the most impactful on her. Some of those memories include the cheer team and her blasting music on the bus rides home from the away football games.

One thing Sommar will be taking with her from these four years at MIA is the support system she has made over the years. She realized she had the same thoughts and was more alike to people than she had thought before.
