Senior Spotlight: Kathryn Barry

Kathryn Barry has been a member of Marco Island Academy’s girl’s basketball team since her freshman year. Before that, she has been shooting hoops for as long as she could remember. She has seen the Ray’s advance through four winning seasons and two PCAC Championships. Kathryn has learned that when the team was having fun on the court, they were excelling.

After high school, Kathryn plans to attend Rice University where she will study biochemistry whilst performing research at the Texas Medical Center with hopes of attaining an M.D. / Ph.D.. She shares that her ultimate goal is to do immunological medical research at the highest levels.

Though her career in organized basketball ends at MIA, Kathryn plans to still shoot hoops in her free time and run at least one marathon a year. She shares that she will never forget the connections that she made with her teammates, and will continue to cherish those.
