Ate (verb) – The action of successfully pulling something off, doing something well, or looking good.
Example: “Her outfit ate.”
BFFR (exclamation) – An acronym that stands for “be freaking for real”. This is said to someone when they do or say something found ridiculous. It is similar to saying “get real.”
Example: “I think I’m going to get back together with my ex boyfriend”….”Girl, bffr”
Bye (exclamation) – Said to someone when they say something controversial, out of pocket, unbelievable.
Example: “I’m snapping him again”… “BYE!”
Bussin/Bussy/Bus (adjective) – Used to describe something, usually something edible, that is very good.
Example: “Drive thru Bobby’s fries are bussy.”
Cuh (Noun) – Short for cousin but can be used as an endearing term for friends.
Example: “What’s up cuh?”
Fruity (adjective) – Describing something relating to or resembling the LGBTQ+ community. Usually used to describe things not in the community but believed it should.
Example: “The way he walked, I swear he was fruity.”
Gas (adjective) – A term used to describe something awesome or really good.
Example: “Did you hear the new Metro album? It is gas.”
Gaslight (verb) – Manipulating someone into believing something false.
Example: “He was able to gaslight me into believing there was no school tomorrow.
Mid (adjective) – A term used to describe something that is mediocre.
Example: Drake’s music is mid.
Opp (noun) – Short for “opposition”. Used to label someone who you are against or dislike.
Example: “Don’t talk to him, he’s an opp.
Pick me girl/guy (noun) – A condescending term used to label someone who goes out of their way to try to get people to like them or get their attention.
Example: “She keeps speaking in a baby voice around all of the guys, she is such a pick me girl.
Purr (exclamation) – A term to show excitement or approval of something.
Example: “Look at my new piercing”… “Oh purr!”
Rizz (noun) – Short for charisma. An attractiveness that makes someone appealing to others
Example: He pulls all the girls, he has W rizz.
Slay (exclamation) – A term used when something was done well.
Example: “I thrifted these new jeans that fit perfectly!”…”Oh Slay!”
Sus (adjective) – Short for suspicious. Used to describe something questionable.
Example: He always wears shoes with his dogs out, seems a little sus.
Villain origin story (noun) – An event or action in someone’s life that was to their misfortune.
Example: “I didn’t get tickets to the Taylor Swift tour, this is my villain origin story.
