Good morning Marco Island Academy, it is FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2022, and these are your morning announcements!

General Announcements

College Visits:  Several colleges will be coming to MIA to discuss their schools and answer any questions. These opportunities are open to all grade levels.  

Ringling College of Art & Design – Sept 19th – TODAY is the last day to sign-up for Ringling.

Florida Polytechnic – Sept 21st

FGCU – Sept 30th

Sign-ups are posted in Google classrooms.  You must sign-up in advance to attend.

Athletics:  All athletes, if you want to attend homecoming, your athletic fees must be paid.    

Volleyball:  Last night, our Varsity volleyball team destroyed the Sharks of Bonita.  Tonight, we cheer them on as they head to Village school to take on the Knights.  Good luck ladies!  

Football:  Tonight, let’s cheer on our Football and Cheer teams as they head to Cape Coral and battle another set of sharks at Oasis Charter.  Go Rays!

Activities: 

The Wave: There will be an interest meeting for The Wave next Tuesday, September 20, right after school in Mr. Scalia’s room 233! All who are interested should plan on attending!

ECO Club: Reminder to everybody in E.C.O. to run up to Mr.Swope’s room and grab the permission slip for tomorrow’s field trip. It must be turned in to attend.

SGA: Ready for a totally groovy, sparkling, disco good time?  Homecoming 2022, Night at the Disco will be September 24th at the Marco Island Hilton. Tickets are on sale during A and B lunches! THIS IS THE LAST DAY AT THIS PRICE.  And all guest forms are due TODAY!   

Lip Sync: If you are interested in participating in the lip sync -we are talking to ANY grade level-  for the upcoming pep rally, please speak to one of the following TODAY: Mrs. Ray, Mrs. Higuera, Sra. Walther, or Miss. Scott. Practices will begin MONDAY after school. 

Spirit Week: HOMECOMING Spirit begins Monday, September 19 with Adam Sandler Day!!!

THESPIANS: The Thespians will host Music and Games on the Mezz TONIGHT from 6-8:30pm. Sing some karaoke, play your instruments, read some poetry, compete in some fun games, and more. Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase. Bring Your Own Favorite Game!  See the flyers around campus for more details.

Thespian members – lots of info has been posted on Band, so be sure to read all of the posts.  Also, there will be a Thespians meeting today after school.

NHS: Good morning NHS! If you applied to join this semester, please stop by Mr. Wolfe’s room AFTER SCHOOL to receive your decision letter. He will be available until 3:30 PM.
