1. Candy Land

An entertaining pastime for children (Candyland)

Remember when you would gather around the game board waiting for the game to start? Candy Land is a classic board game that was just introduced in 1948 but has maintained its popularity today. Candy Land is a sweet, simple game made for kids ages 3 to 6. This is an iconic game that was first invented as a pastime for kids who were recuperating from polio. Candy Land is a fun, whimsical game that any young kid would love.

 

2. Hungry Hungry Hippos

The loud but entertaining game for young children (Hungry Hungry Hippos)

Remember when you would play hungry  hungry hippos with your friends and/or family? Hungry hungry hippos was released in 1978. This nostalgic game has 4 different colored hippos and a lot of small plastic marbles. To win the game you have to capture the most marbles. Other than the games moving some and being a bit loud, it’s very fun for kids aged 2 and up.

3. Elefun

Can you catch all the butterflies? (Elefun)

Remember when you would run around the room trying to catch the butterflies that came out of the trunk? Elefun was released in 1997 and is made for kids ages 9 months and up. Elefun has a meter-long trunk that has a propeller at the base of it. Before you turn the propeller on, you have to put the butterflies in the trunk. Once you turn it on the butterfly’s fly everywhere as you run around trying to catch them. 

4. Operation

*Buzz* (Operation)

Remember when you would touch the side of the opening and it would make a buzzing noise? Operation is a classic game that almost everyone has played. Operation is a fun game for kids ages 6 and up released in 1965. The goal of this game is to get the most objects out of the board. But the challenge is you can’t touch the sides of the opening with the tweezers. Operation is loads of fun but the buzzing noise does get annoying after a while.

5. Twister

This game will have you all mixed up (Twister)

Remember when you would get all twisted up and in different positions until you fell? Twister is a colorful game designed for kids 6 and up. This nostalgic game was introduced in 1966 and has been well-known ever since. To play this game you just spin the spinner and put your foot or hand on whatever color it lands on. This game is lots of fun… until you fall of course.
