Rays Basketball

Keep it rollin’! Thursday night, the MIA men’s basketball team flew by Bonita Springs with a score of 91-36.

It was not looking promising in the first half; with five minutes left in the second quarter, the score was 26-22. However, the Rays caught fire and went on a 19-6 run going into half holding a 45-28 lead.

The second half was lopsided, with the Rays more than doubling their score while holding Bonita to just six points the whole half.

It was an all-around great game for the Rays. Every player got equal playing time, all playing at a very high level.

Having such an unselfish playstyle, the Rays had six players with double-digit scoring. Dominic Moller put up 21, Johnny Watt had 19, Kyler Howard had 13, Quintin Fitton had 13, Tony Castillo had 15, and Shamus Coyle had 11.

If they can play with that same defensive energy and unselfish offense, they will be a force to be reckoned with in the PCAC playoffs starting next week.
