5. A Bronx Tale

It tells the coming of age story of an Italian-American boy, Calogero, who, after encountering a local Mafia boss, is torn between the temptations of organized crime and the values of his honest, hardworking father, as well as racial tensions in his community. I like this movie because it shows how Calogero’s decisions determine his life. One of my favorite quotes from this movie is “The saddest thing in life is wasted talent.” Calogero’s father told him this because he was worried about his son’s friendship with Sunny, the mafia boss. I rate this movie a 8.5/10

4. Goodfellas

The lowly, blue-collar side of New York’s Italian mafia is explored in this crime biopic of wiseguy Henry Hill. As he makes his way from strapping young petty criminal, to big-time thief, to a middle-aged drug addict and dealer, the film explores in detail the rules and traditions of organized crime. I like this film because it taught me that everything in the world has rules and it is up to you if you want to follow those rules or break them. I rate this film a 9/10.

3. The Irishman

The film follows Frank Sheeran, a truck driver who becomes a hitman involved with mobster Russell Bufalino and his crime family, including his time working for the powerful Teamster Jimmy Hoffa. This film is based on real events.  I like this film because it shows you that nothing in this world lasts forever. At the end of the day everything must come to an end. I rate this film a 9.5/10.

2. Scarface

In 1980 Miami, a determined Cuban immigrant takes over a drug cartel and succumbs to greed. After getting a green card in exchange for assassinating a Cuban government official, Tony Montana stakes a claim on the drug trade in Miami. This movie is a great example of determination because of the amount of risks Tony had to take in order to get to the position he was in. In the same sense this movie shows how greed for power and money will end up being the death of a person. In my opinion this movie is an 8.5/10.

1. The Godfather 2

This Film focuses on the powerful Italian-American crime family of Don Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando). When the Don’s youngest son, Michael (Al Pacino), reluctantly joins the Mafia, he becomes involved in the inevitable cycle of violence and betrayal. Although Michael tries to maintain a normal relationship with his wife, Kay (Diane Keaton), he is drawn deeper into the family business. In my opinion I rate this movie a 10/10 given the fact that this movie is one of the most iconic mob movies I’ve ever seen.
