Announcements

Good morning Marco Island Academy, it is FRIDAY, JANUARY 20, 2023, and these are your morning announcements!   

General Announcements:

2023-2024 Re-Enrollment:  Attention 9th, 10th, and 11th graders, re-enrollment documents are due by Tuesday, January 31. Teachers, as a reminder, packets will be picked up at the beginning of block 4 each day. 

Pickleball Tournament Volunteers: Thank you for signing up to volunteer this weekend.  Please report to your assigned shift/shifts at the YMCA dressed in MIA and athletic gear.  You are so appreciated.   

Athletics:   

Baseball: Baseball tryouts are Thursday, January 26th at 6pm at the TBE ball field.  Be sure  to have your physical AND Athletics. Packet. Athletics. Packet.  Turned into Mr. Miller ASAP.

Basketball: It’s senior night! Good luck to girls and boys basketball as they take on the Knights of Village School at home tonight. The JV Boys play FBA at 4:30, then the girls will play at 6 and boys will play at 7:30 with senior night between the varsity games. 

Soccer:  Great job to the girls who beat the Knights of Village School last night with a score of 6-0! The boys played a hard game last night, and we are so proud of them. Go Rays!

Activities:

Theatre: There will be a Thespians meeting today after school. All those going to States must attend. Interested in getting involved with crew for Superhero? Come hear about the ways you can be a part of the MIA Backstagers.

Congratulations to the cast of Superhero. If you choose to accept your role, please initial the cast list on Mr. Dayett’s door after school. You can pick up your scripts and vocal books immediately after the Thespians meeting today. First rehearsal is February 1. More info to come on the Band app.

Pickleball Club: Any students still interested in the Pickleball Club but were unable to attend the interest meeting, please reach out to Mr. Wood. He will have all the information needed to be able to play.
