Announcements

Good morning Marco Island Academy, it is THURSDAY, JANUARY 19, 2023, and these are your morning announcements!   

General Announcements:

2023-2024 Re-Enrollment:  Attention 9th, 10th, and 11th graders, re-enrollment documents should be turned in NOW.  To secure your spot at MIA for next school year, you MUST turn in your re-enrollment packet by Tuesday, January 31. 

Athletics:   

Baseball: Baseball tryouts will be Thursday, January 26th at 6pm at the TBE ball field.  Please be certain to have your physical AND  Athletics.  Packet. Athletics. Packet.  Turned into Mr. Miller ASAP.

Basketball:

Soccer: Good luck to our boys and girls team as they take on the Knights of Village School at our home field. The girls play at 4:30 and the boys play at 6:30. Come out and support both teams as we celebrate the seniors tonight in between games! Go Rays!

Activities:

Key Club: Please remember that there is a lunch meeting TODAY. Lunch A is in Mrs G’s room and Lunch B is in Mrs. Walthers room. 

E.C.O. Club: Reminder to the E.C.O Environmentalist and anyone else interested in joining the club. There is a meeting TODAY after school that will be held in Mrs.Dickson’s room.

Performing Arts: Thank you to everyone who auditioned for Superhero. At this time we do not need to see anyone back for a callback today. The cast list will be posted on Friday, and you can pick up scripts and vocal books at the Thespians Meeting.

Thespians: There will be a Thespians meeting tomorrow after school. All those going to States must attend. Interested in getting involved with crew for Superhero? Come hear about the ways you can be a part of the MIA Backstagers.

Aaron Toy, the actor currently playing Iago in Aladdin on tour, will be here today after school to offer some vocal and acting coaching, as well as answer questions about life on the road as a touring actor.

Chess Club: Looking for a challenge? Chess Club is back!  Today after school join the chess club to learn, practice and sharpen your chess skills. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or advanced player, everyone is welcome. The club will meet after school in room 136.

Pickleball Club: Any students still interested in Pickleball but were unable to attend the interest meeting, please reach out to Mr. Wood. He will have all the information needed to be able to play.
